The Rev. Father Kilgallin, who has been transferred to Scone, was recently presented by the Catholics of Singleton, where he. had labored for some years, with a cheque for £174. Father Kilgallin in thanking the people for their generosity said:—l cannot accept these gifts at your hands for my personal needs, but it gives me great pleasure to accept them in the cause of charity and religion. Therefore I will give the sum of £4O to eight diocesan charities as follows: Waratah Deaf and Dumb Institution, £5; Maitland Orphanage, £0; Lochinvar Convent, £5; Mainland St. Vincent de Paul Society, £5; Vincent St. Vincent de Paul Society, £5; Sick Clergy Relief Fund, £5; Mission Fund, £5; Education Fund, £5. A cheque covering these amounts will be sent to the Right Rev. Dr. Dwyer, Bishop of Maitland. I will also donate a cheque for '£3o to the Father Hand Memorial Bursary, and a cheque for £3O to the Singleton poor, especially the sick poor.
