(From our own correspondent.) January 13. The annual meeting of the Grevmouth branch of the HA.B.C. Society was held in St. Patrick s Schoolroom oil ihursday evening, January 5. The president (Bro. W. V. Sullivan) occupied the chair, and was supported bv a full attendance of officers. Notwithstanding the numerous holiday attractions, there was an excellent attendance of members. After a considerable amount of routine business was disposed of, the election of officers for the ensuing term was proceeded with, the following being the result:— President, Bro. P. J. Smythe; vice-president. Bro. J. Lynch; warden, Bro. N. Condon; guardian, Bro. T. Keenan; treasurer, Bro. P. Blanchiield; secretary, Bro. T. P. Fogarty ■ vice-secretary, Bro. J. R. Tryon; sick visitors, Bros. P. j' Smythe and J. Lynch; auditors, Bros. M. J. Fogarty and M. J. Phillips; chemist, Mr. Hanwell Williams; medical attendant Dr. j. W. Mcßrearty, jun. The president announced that the installation of the officers would take place on January 19.

A meeting of the sports committee of the Hibernian Society was held a few days ago to consider the advisability of holding the annual meeting on St. Patrick’s Day. it was unanimously decided to hold the sports, and a strong committee was appointed to arrange a programme and otheT details. Mr. 1 . Blanchfield was appointed secretary, and the competitors and public alike can rest assured that as tar as Mr. Blanchfield is concerned he will spare no effort to make the meeting a success. It was also decided to run the art union and social in connection with the sports. Mr. 1. J. Smyth was appointed secretary of the social and art union committee.
