Blenheim

January 13. Lieutenant G. W. O’Sullivan, hate of the Blenheim Rifles, has received notice of his appointment as noncommissioned instructor in the Territorials. Lieutenant O’Sullivan was a very popular officer in the late volunteer corps, and has received many congratulations on his wellearned promotion.
A meeting was held in the boys’ school on the Bth inst. to consider the advisability of taking over the management of the annual Hibernian sports from the Hibernian Society, at the latter’s request. The meeting was presided over by Rev. 4 ather Holley. A strong working committee was appointed to make arrangements for the holding of the sports. The officers elected were: President, Rev. Father Holley; vice-president, Mr. H. AG Browne; treasurer, Air. W. Morrison; joint secretaries, Messrs. T. Mitchell and AI. Scollard. The sports committee met on the following evening, when a programme, with prize money totalling £l6O, was arranged. At the initial meeting the sum of £36 was guaranteed in the room, ’
