Dr. Findlay, Minister for Justice, was asked by a L ress representative the other dav regarding statements which have been published hinting "at further changes amongst the higher placed officers of the police force of the Dominion. Dr. Findlay said that no further changes will be made amongst the superior officers of the force for some considerable time. There would be, however, some transfers and promotions consequent on the two retirements from the force announced this week. In addition there would be from time to time the usual transfers and promotions among the rank and file of the force, but as already stated, no changes or alterations among the higher officers. Asked if it was intended to appoint Inspector Kiely permanently to the Canterbury district, and when the vacancies caused by the retirements already mentioned were to be filled, the Minister stated that he proposed dealing with these matters on his; return to Wellington
