t T ! h , % v - Father Cock > R -J-> preached at Vespers at St. -Joseph s Cathedral on Sunday evening. In a private letter written from the Irish College Rome, Right Rev. Dr. Cleary, Bishop of Auckland, states that he will arrive in Dunedin in the first week in January. The annual retreat of the Dominican nuns began on Friday last, and is being conducted by the Rev. Father Cock, S.J. At a preliminary meeting on Sunday evening in connection with the schools' annual picnic it was decided, subject to alteration, to hold the outing at Evansdale on the second Wednesday in February.
