Ashburton
(From an occasional correspondent.) At both Masses on Sunday, September 19, Very Rev. Father O' Sullivan, of the Society of African Missions, addressed the congregation on the subject of the African missions. He also preached in the evening. On Wednesday evening, September 15, a meeting was held in the parish school for the purpose of forming a tennis club. Mr. T. M. Brophy, president of the Ashburton Catholic Club, presided. The matter was taken up with great enthusiasm, and nearly all present signified their intention of becoming members. The "name selected was 'The St. Mary's Tennis Qlub^' and the following' were elected to fill the various offices : Patron, Very_ Rev.' Dean O'Donnoll; president, Mr._, M. J.
