May 1. The Very Rev. .Dean McKenna is at present on a visit to Rotorua.

The usual meeting of the Hibernian Society was' held last Tuesday. It was decided to enter a team for the seven-aside football tournament. Brothers Redmond, Chapman, and Waters were appointed a committee to draw up a syllabus of social entertainments to be held during the winter.

A very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church last Wednesday, the contracting parties being IVios Margaret Carroll, youngest daughter of Mr. Edward Carroll, Southbridge, Canterbury, and Mr. Jerome Su/vuge, son of Mr. J. Savage, of Lansdowne. The brile, who «vas given away by her brother, wore a cream chiffon taffeta, with satin court train, veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of white cosmos and maiden hair fern. Miss M. O'Connor, of Wellington, and Miss M, Savage were bridesmaids. Rev. Father Saunderson performed the ceremony, and celebrated the Nuptial Mass. A charming gold watch and chain were the bridegroom's gifts to the bride, who presented the groom with a sec ol pmJ sleeve links. The bridesmaids were the recipiciss from the bridegroom of pretty gold bar brooches set with pearls and rubies. A reception was held in the' Arcadi.i Tea Rooms, and the happy couple left by the afternoon train for Auckland.
