The total quantity of hemp exported from New Zealand for the year ended March. 31 shows a decrease of 56,508 bales — roughly, 11,300 tons — whicl, at £20 a' ton, figures out, at a loss to the country of £226,000. The quantity graded for export for 1908 was 132,535 bales, and for 1909 only 76,027 bales.
