Dr. Murray, Bishop of Cooktown, opened new St. Mary's Church at Cooktown on Sunday, February 16, in the presence of a large congregation. The edifice replaces the one destroyed' by the disastrous cyclone that swept over the town thirteen months ago. After Mass the Bishop was presented with an address of welcome by me congregation. The new church has accommodation for 20 v, and the cost of the building was over £1100.

He was present at the opening of the new' wing of Kincumber , Orphanage on Sunday, and during the week he visited Lewisham Hospital with the Cardinal. On Tuesday his Lordship left for Goulburn, " where he has 'been the guest - of Bishop Gallarhor.. He returns to Sydney on Saturday. Bishop 'Lenihan,' who is the guest of the Cardinal, leaves by the next steamer for Vancouver, which he "will pick up at Brisbane.
