A Triangular Duel
A Midshipman Easy duel is going on in Palmerston North just now over the question of Anglican ' continuity,' with which we dealt in our last issue. The Reformation is one of several bones of contention, and the Anglican, Presbyterian, and Congregational champions are busy around them with point and edge and parry and riposte. Each champion— feeling, perhaps, that^he is on shaky ground— spreads his feet so as to occupy a good deal of controversial territory and secure himself, as far as he thus may, from ' falling in.' The pointed statement of the amazing unhistoric Anglican claim was of a kind that could hardly fail to e\ oke trouble. For the rest, judging by present, appearances, the triangular discussion seems likely, like a damaged dynamo, to evolve more heat than light. Once more we commend to all interested in the discussion — both Catholic and Protestant— the masterly lectures on the subject by the Archbishop of Melbourne, which are to be republished shortly by the Australian Catholic Truth Society.
