The spectacle of one of -New Zealand's justices of the peace wheeling a barrow- opposite Taihape's Temple of Justice is creating considerable merriment in the minds of passers-by (says the local ' News '). From. ' early morn ' till ' dewy eve ' this doughty- capitalist is to be seen wheeling, his barrow and shovelling like__ an ordin.ary navvy. Recently his presence was- required to ad- - judicate in a case of obscene language, and, wipingthe beads of perspiration from- his forehead, ■ -he donned his coat, and in a few seconds was translated from navvy to a presiding justice. At the - close of the case he made for the scene of his labor, and doffing his coat, resumed wheeling operations. .
