An inspection of the display of work revealed a wealth and variety of the useful and ornamental in a bewildering' array. Taking the exhibits in the aggregate, rather than to individualise, one is at once struck -with, the advancement in. many subjects and the uniformly high ordeT of merit shown, -which reflect the greatest credit on the teaching ability of the Sisters and diligence and talent of the pugils. To summarise, there were to be seen paintings in oils and water colours, drawings in black-and-white, etc. Modelling and wood-carvinor still maintain prominence; the articles shown included tables, music cabinets, sideboards, and photo frames. In fancy work were shown cushions, fire screens, mantel drapes, lace, and embroidery. In plain sewing and articles of artistic finish there were' shown handkerchief sachets, table centres, bed spreads, specimens of Mountmellick work, lace, drawn thread, and Teneriffe work. Specimens of dressmaking by advanced pupils, a wol-k recently introduced, held a foremost place. In the kindergarten section was shown quite a creditable array of pretty things. The Ver»- Rev. Father Le Menant des Ohesnais, V.G., presided at the distribution, of prizes, a number of visiting and resident clergy being also present.
