WEDDING BELLS
SMITH— LYONS.. " - V .r, ' ' ' (From an occasional correspondent.) . A' pretty wedding took place on August 130^. atth'e-V Catholic Cathedral, Christchurch. The bride was -Miss Mary Lyons, eldest daughter- of Mr. Joseph^Lyons,,of Creyke street, Christohurch, and the^ #f idegr'6om~ was Mr. James _ Smith, of Rangiora. Mr.. "Francis . Walklin, brother-m-law to the" bride, was, best man, and the Rev. Father Hyland celebrated the marriage eerempny. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a .dove-colored dress, ..elaborately, trimmed, -. with ' lace and corded silk, and hat to match: The " - bridesmaids . were Miss* Christina, . and " Miss Annie Lyons, sisters of the bride. On the conclusion of <the' ceremony the - wedding party drove, to the Al Hotel, where the wedding breakfast took place. At the re~past the usual toasts, including that of the host and hostesa (Mr. and Mrs 5 . Devane) — were_ duly honored. The wedding -presents were numerous, " valuable, and useful.. / ■ ■
