PALMERSTON NORTH
(From our own correspomdent.) May 27. The annual meeting of St. Patrick's choir was held in the Zealandia Hall en Sunday evening, May 20, The Rev. Father Costello presided, and there was a full attendance. The balance sheet and report were read and adapted, the former showing a credit of £3 0s 10£ d, with which to start the new financial year. The following were elected a committee : Miss Arambum (secretary), Miss Brophy, Miss Stagpole, iMrs. Russell, and Messrs. H. McEwan, J. Hanley, and V. A. Dallow, with tho Rev. Father Costello (president), exofficio. On the motion of the Rev. Father Costello, Mr. V. A. DaJlow was unanimously elected chairman. Miss Stagoole and Mrs. RusajU gratuitously offered their services as organist and conductor respectively till further notice, which was very thankfully accepted. It was decided to hold: a sacred concert in the Zealandia Hall on Whit Sunday night alter service, to be the first of series, in aid of the parish debt. The Rev. Father O'Shea, of Dannevirke, preached an eloquent sermon from the Gospel of the day to an Overflowing congregation at the evening devotions on Sunday. , _________________
