London, November 11.— The wheat market is quiet, but firm. Cargoes are steadily held. Australian new crop, December shipment, 33s 6d to 33s 9d ; December-" January shipment, 33s to 33s 3d. Wellington, November 13.— The Department of Industries and Commerce has received a cablegram ,from the High Commissioner, London, dated 11th inst., which states that there has been more inclination to purchase mutton during the past week, and there are signs of improvement in the market. The average price on the date mentioned for Canterbury mutton was 3|d per lb • for other and North Island mutton, 3-Jd. The average price for River Plate mutton was 3|d per ft. The lamb market is very dull, and the supply exceeds the demand The average pfrce for light weights is 4£d per ft, and for heavy weights 3|d per lb. The beef market is depressed, and the stocks of New Zealand beef on hand are light. The average price for hindquarters New Zealand beef is Sgd per ft ; for forequarters, 2|d per ft. The butter market is very firm for choicest qualities, 'and there is good demand. The price for choicest New Zealand butter is Ills per cwt ; Danish, 1235. There is' good demand for cheese, and the market is firm. Canadian on spot is quoted at 58s per cwt. Invercargill Prices Current.— Wholesale— Butter (farm), 7d ; separator, Bd. Butter (factory), pats Is OJd. Eggs, 8d per dozen. Cheese, 6d. Hams, 9d. Barley, 2s to 2s 6d. Chaff, £3 per ton. Flour, £10 to £11. Oatmeal, £10 to £11. Bran, £4. Pollard, £5. Potatoes, £10 per ton.
