Reefton
Whilst on a visit to Reef ton recently the Yen. Archdeacon Devoy was entertained at a complimentary social gathering by the members of the 11. A CB. Society. The president ol the branch, Mr M Fcehan, in a few vrell-chosen words, extended a veiy hearty welcome to the guest, and expressed gieat pleasure at having amongst them a brother Hibernian who had done so much to promote the interests of the Society throughout the Colony. The Yen. Archdeacon m reply thanked tho members of the branch, and all piesent for the invitation he had receiTcd, complimenting the oflkcis and members of the blanch on the- lapid pi ogies-, which they had made during the past three years and the good financial position in which the branch now stands, and expressed a wish that they would continue their progress in the futuie lie also made lefeieiue t© the excellence of the musical items lendeied dining the evening. The following- musical items weie contiibuted . — Pianoforte duet, Misses M and 'I. Rasmussen , violin selection, Messis. Walsh and IlolTmeister , vocal duet, Misses E and X Carroll , vocal solo, Miss K. Carroll, Tosti's ' Good-bye ' , Miss T Minehan, ' Love not' ; Miss McVamara, ' Hush-a-bv c\ ma baby,' , Miss K. Carroll, ' Listening ' , Mr E Polls, ' Let 'me (lie in the det*j> ', Mr Fama, ' The inquisitive kiddy,' and Mi A. Carroll The accompaniments were played by Misses MeGilhcuddy, Walshc, CaLroll, and Mastei R Potts
