OBITUARY

MRS. O'BRIEN, WELLINGTON. (From our own correspondent.) The death here, on the 28th ult , of Mrs Mary O'Brien, widow of the late Captain P. O'Brien, formerly of Lyttclt^on, caused wides-piead sorrow, as the decease^ lady was well known and highly respected throughout the Colony. She was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. A. McCarthy, of Wellington, and for the last thirty years was a resident of Lyttelton. About six months ago sine retired from business, and came to reside in Wellington. During her illness she was attended by the Rev. Father O'Sfrea, and her death was a most edifying one. The interment took place at the Mount Street Cemetery, the funeral being largely attended. The Rev. Father Vonning officiated at the grave, ij.ie, the Rev. Fathers O'Shea, Walsh, and Ilolley being also present.— R.l. P.
