The anjil'ial concert on St. Patrick's Day (says rhe 1 West Coast Times,' Hokitika) was a pronounced success, tlhe hall being taxed to hold the audience assembled to hfonor the occasion. Malfroy (encored). An Irisjh reel was given by Mr. Morris'sey, which met with more than a hearty reception, arid \tfhioh brought the first part of the concert to a close. During tihe interval Mr. Jas. Toomey thanked the audience for their patronage and the performers for their services, including Uhose who had so diligently aided in decorating the hall. He made spepial reference to the Volunteer Band, who had rendered very valuable and much appreciated assistance, ana also emphasised how grateflul they felt to the Rimu community for the considerate way in which they had saved the situation by not clashing with that evening's entertainment. Malfroy |(encc<ro|d) ; song, ' The mfghty deep,' Mr. Coltman (encored) ; sjong, ' Down the burn,' Mrs. iGrimmond (ertcored) ; song, ' The Irish jubilee,' Mr. Bray (encored) ; the comcliuKling item being an Irish jig by Mr. Morrissey (encored). Father A'ubry supplemented the remarks of the chairman arid took the opportunity of thanking the audience and wishing them many happy retuxns of the day, the silnging cf the National Anthem bringing a most guidcesslul entertainment to a close. The accompanists dluring the qvening were Misses M. Ward, Michel M. Macfarlane, Williams, and Eileen Daly.
