The second slale of the season's .series was held in the Vktiona Hlall, Agricultural Buildings, Dunedin, an Fiiday. Hie tolal number of bales catalogued by the various brokers extended to 14,015 bales, to which our catalogue contributed 1928 bales. There was again a very full attendance of buyers, English, foreign, and colonial manufacturers being well represented. The New Zealand wtfollqa mills, including the Mosgiel, Roslyn, Bruce, and Kaiapoi Rere to the fare, and competed freely for all lots suitable to tjheir requirements, and in no small degree contributed to the Success of the sale. The Englibih and American representatives were alyo strong competitors, land for all suiting their orders were prepared to nay ffcll rates, the result being a brisk sale at satisfactory prices Tne wools catalogued by us for this <ale were, on the whole, well grown, sound in staple, a.njd carefully got up, and although we had no specially prepared or highly-bred wools o,n our catalogue, several of the clips were exceedingly well grown and carefully prepared for nftiTLet, the wool sound in staple, bright a-nrt cleajn, and\ these clips well merited the brisk competition and satisfactory prices which they secured. The competition throughout the sales was very keen, all classes of wool meeting with brisk bidding up to flull market Value. The prices realised showed a slight ad\ance ion tihose ruling at the last sale for all sound bright crossbred and fine halfbred wools ; for merino and low-class croysbreds prices weie about on a par with those obtained at last, sales , but in all cases the prices obtained were more than equal to the London equivalent vtaliie. There was a very large gathering of wool growers in attendance at the sales, all deeply interested in the business, and anxious to ascertain the result of the, year's returns, with which, in most cases, they appeared, perfectly satisfied.
