The new King of Saxony will enjoy a Civil List o! £147,000. His Majesty is in the somewhat unusual position of being a Catholic ruling over a Protestant cc*untry. Out of a population of something like 3,000,000, only about 80,000 arc members of the King's Church. The State Church is Lutheran. Prince Max, the King's youngest brother, is a priest, and worked for some little time in the liiast-end of London.
