(From an occasional correspondent.) November 2. The St. Columba Hall was opened on last Wednesday e\ening ovihe ho . -ug of a ba/aar, which was a great success. The hall was crowded to its utmost, and the stallholder::', did a splendid business. Owing to the number of vicitors the bazaar was kept open till .Saturday e\ernng. The total amount realised was £160. The stalls were presided over by Misses Hannan, Kemple, Phillips, Barry, Fogarty, and Heflernan (2), and Ms. Wilson The reire&hment stall was in charge of r Me.sdames Hannan and Mcßrearty, and Miss Phillips. The musical programme was in the hands of Mr. Guthric, assisted by Messrs. McCarthy, Cad-zow, Doogan, Goodall C 2), Fraser and Master E. Moss. The organisers ot the ba/aar were Misses Hannan and Kemple, who had wo-nced zealously for months past. On Monday evening the members of the club entertained all ihe ladies who so ably assisited at the bazaar. The gathering took the form of a progressive euchre party, the ladies' prize being won by Miss McGuinness (Tnnaru), and the gentlemen's by Mr. McCarthy. A short musical programme was gone through. Miss E. Kemple ana Mr. D. Phillips played the accompaniments, and also contributed solos. Mr,. William McCabe, on

behalf of the members of the club, presented their departing secretary, Mr. O'Gorman, with a shaving stand Mr. McCabe referred in feeling terms to the many good qualities of Mr. O'Gorman, and to the great loss the club sustained in losing their secretary who at all tdmes worked well lor its advancement. Mr. O'-Gorman suitably replied. ? is pleasing to learn that Master J. Hannan, eleldest son ot Mr. M. Hannan, has successfully passed his second term examination at the Victo-ia College, Wellington fie is now enabled to sit 'for the LL.B. degree.
