(From our own correspondent.) October 9. The half-yearly meeting of the Catholic Young; Men's Club took place on October 3, at which there was a large attendance of members, Rev. Father Goggan presiding. The report and balance sheet were adopted It was agreed to fall in with the suggestion of tlhe executive of the N Z. Federated Catholic Young Men's Societies that the first Sunday in Advent bo fixed as the date on which the members of all affiliated clubs shall approach the Holy Table in a body in their respective parishes. The age of admission to membership of the Club was reduced from 18 to 17. The. following officers were elected : Hp.n. secretary, Mr. P. S. Folry ; hon. treasurer, Mr. D. Barry ; committee, Messrs. W. Sinden, B. O'Rourke, J. Fortune, T. Cunnngham, and L. .Willis. All the pupils of St. Joseph's Convent who presented themselves at the recent practical musical examination under the auspices of Trinity College were successful. gina Mo&ney, Madge Norwood, Hettie Muhlefeem, SbeiU London, Amy Payne. A pretty wedding took place at St. Mary's Church Mcanee,, on. October 4, when Mr. W. Heiford, of the Napier postal staff, second son of -the late Mr. R Hciforu, of Napier, was married to Miss K. Neagle third daughter of Mr. R. Neagle, of Greenmeadows. ' There was a large attendance -at the church, the contracting parties being very popular in the district: The bride \vaa given away by her father, the bridesmaids being Misses F. Heiford and M. Hanlihan. Mr. P. .Ne/agle was boj.li man, and Mr. A. Heiford groomsman. RcyTVather McDonnell performed the ceremony. The "'Wedding March ' was piayed by Miss'.H. U. Stuart. Some eight months ago the idea was conceived of holding a grand bazaar for the purpose of reducing! the pairrsfh debt, and of. erecting a church at Port Anuriri for the convenience of Catholics resident in that uarter. During the interval willing workers were busily engaged in making and collecting all kinds of articles for the fiiirni&hing of the various stalls in a toafcaar wihldh was opened on Saturday afternoon, and is to be kept going for twelve days. A feature of the cartiivial was the introduction of several fancy dances by school girls under the direction of Miss Mary Butler, of Wellington. Many presents were received by the Rev. Father Gog&jui f.rom his former parishioners in Blenheim and Wellington. ,The ba/aar was opened by his Worship tlhe Mayor (Mr S. Carnell), who expressed his pleasure at being present. He understood, he said, that the bazaar was to free their church of debt and to establish a ediurch at Port Ahuriri. This was a very desirable thing, as the Catholics at the port had a long way to travel to attend the duties of their Church. He felt very pleased at the hig-h-olass works of art that he saw around him. He had very great pleasure in declaring the ba/-a ar open. One of the most interesting of the numerous' side ■hows was the art gallery, the principal exhibit of which was of considerable historic value. It consisted of small oil paintings by Father Bell of all the Popes. In the same room was also a unique Bible, one of the oldest m the world, printed in 1655 ; while a publication entitled ' Natural Theology ' bore the imprint of 1490,, The following are the various stallholders' :— Motherland— Mrs. Wm.
