September 3. The increasing popularity of Day's Bay as a place of resi/donqe -'has made it necessary for the authorities to arrange for the celebration of Mass there every Sunday. For this purpose the Rev. Father Tymons, of St. Patliek'a College, will visit the Bay next Sunday. Two Ri.gby championships have fallen to the St. Patrick's College teams this year. By defeating the Petone thirds on Saturday last the college thirds gained the tihird clas>s championship, while the college fifth class team won the championship of its class by gaining a victory over a team r from Wellington College. Botk teams wept through the season without siufiering a defeat.
Iht higii standard of the musical training imparted at St. Mary's Convent was well illustrated at the concert given in the Guildford Terrace Schoolroom on Monday evening. The audience was a crowded one and the enterttomment first-class. Songs were given by Misses M. Scgrief, Fulsford, Prouse. Martin, White, McDonald Jonas, Denhafd, Vincent, and Maxwell. Concerted items were rendered by Misses O'Farrell, Rose and Agnes Segnef, and alsio by Misses McDonald and Vincent. Several choruses and part songs were given with the requisite spirit and harmony. Instrumental items were contributed by Misses Efvans, Gudgeon, Von Dadelszen, and Messrs. M. Gleeson and Cohen. Miss M Sullivan played the accompaniments The half-yearly meeting of the Catholic Young Men's Club was held on Tuesday evening. iThe president, Rev. Fatiher O Shea occupied the ahair.
