St. Joseph's Men's Club, Dunedin

The annual meeting of the St. Joseph's Men's Club was held in St. Joseph's Hall on Thursday evening. The Rev. P'atiher Murphy, Adm., presided, and there was a large attendance of members. The rev. chairman expressed his pleasure at seeing such a large meeting whidh augured well for the success of the club during tihe coming year.

The committee in their annual report congratulated the members on the success which had attended the work of the club during the past season, and on the satisfactory balance sheet, which showed a credit of £5 odd compared with a debit o! nearly a like sum at the beginning of the season. Although tOie financial members were only 41 as against 49 fox the previous year, still they took a greater interest in the working of the club as was evidenced by the fact that the syllabus for the weekly meetings was adhered to throughout the season with only one exception The liteiaiy and debating class was well attended The gymnastic class gave promise in the beginning of the year of being very successful under the 1 dncction of Me^sis Deehan and Dnnnm, but unfortunaiely both of the instructors wore later on laid up with illness.
