London, January 27.— At the wool sales there was strong competition, and prices were maintained. The sales included the following clips :— Ohau, B^d ; Acton, 7f , Raukawa, Bfd. London, January 28 — At yesterday's wool sales morinos were exceedingly firm and crossbreds were keenly competed for, excepting coarse faulties The Americans were operating freely. The Amby Downs, Mangator clip realised B^d, and W D. (New Zealand) 9£d,. At the wool sales to-day prices were firm and slightly better for scoured merinos London, January 20 —At the wool sales ) prices generally were maintained, but low crossbreds were occasionally weak. Sydney, January 28 —A parcel of Queensland scoured wool sold at 2s Id— the highest for the season. Greasy lealised lHd. The week's wool sales closed with animated competition All the better qualities are very firm at late i at es Wellington, January 29.— The third wool sale of the season was held to-day, various brokers ofTeri/ig 4000 bales Theie was a large attendance of buyers, being the best muster that has been seen at the sales, seveial Continental and Home buyers attending for the first tune The wools in the catalogue were exceptionally free from grease, but seed and cotts were very pre\alent, and materially affected the value of much that was offered Lambs' wool was in good demaod, and realised as high as 7?d Generally there was a rise of fiom Ad to on the December sale price The ranges of prices was as follows ; Merino, B^d ; halfbred, 6A_d to 1-kd , medium crossbreds and Romneys, 6£d to 7d ; coaise crossbreds and Lmcolns, f>\6. to 7d ; logstained and inferior, s£d to 6d , pieces and bellies, 4d to 5d ; locks, lid to 3d Lambs : Bright and clean, 6|d to 7£d slightly seedy, 5d to sid. Stronach, Morris and Co , report as follows :— Sheepskins —We offered a \ery large catalogue on Tuesday and had a most satisfactory sale Buyers were present' in good force We sold best merinos, 6^d to 7d per lb , medium to good, do, 5d to (id ; inferior, do, Id to 4^d , best haltbreds, (id to 6^d ; medium to good, do, 5d to r>| ; inferior, do, 4d to 4£d , best fine crossbreds, s^d to 6id , medium to good, do, 4fd to s£d ; infeiior do, 3 J ,d to ljd, best crossbreds, s^d to 6d ; medium to good do, 4d to fid , inferior do, 3d to 3fd ; pelts, !td to 2s 3d each , lambskins, lOd to 2s.
