(From our own correspondent.) December 19. The conversazione to Monsijgkior Ootapt Vay de Vaya was held in St. Patrick's College on Friday evening. A Jarge audience was present and a lecture on Korea was given by -the Monsignor and musical selections by Misses Pulford and Morapi and Mr. J. J. Carr. The Bavarian Band was also in attendance. Miss A. Jenkins, a pupil of St. Maxy's Convent, who passed in the senior hojior division at the examination held lecently by Mr. Langley, has succeeded in winning the silver medal for piano playing.. This young lady obtained 135 marks and was only one mark behind the gold medallist. The annual outing given by Mrs. M. Kennedy to the children of St. Joseph's Orphanage took place at Day's Bay on Thursday. The party journeyed across the harbor in tho steamer ' Duchess.' Arrived at the Bay, games of all descriptions were indulged in and prizes were presented to the children by Mrs. Kennedy The children returned to town in the evening, having spent a most enjoyable day. At St. Mary of the Angels on Sunday morning, last a number of children received their First Communion The Mass was celebrated by Yen. Archdeacon Devoy at half-past seven. Appropriate hymns were sung during Mass by the children, the Rev. Father Kimbiell presiding! at the organ. Breakfast was provided for the children by the ladies of the parish and served in St. Patrick's Hall. At the half-past ten o'clock Mass his Grace administered Confirmation, and also preached on the Sacrament. The renewal of baptismal vows lookplace at three o'clock in the afternoon at St. Joseph's Church, Buckle street.
