MRS. RODRIGIUES, AKAROA.

An old identity of Akaroa, in the person of Mrs Rodrigues, wife of Mrs. Antonio Ro-dri^ueb, passed away on July 2, at the age of 73 years The deceased, who was a native of Madeira, arrived in the Colony in 1858, and resided in Akaroa ever since. A husband, one son, and four daughters are leit to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, July 5, the remains being- tak,en to the Catholic Church, where the Rev. Dr. Kennedy read the burial service, and also officiated at the cemetery The funeral was the largest seen in the district fox a considerable time. — R.I. P.
