The object of the Marist Fathers in this country, as in their colleges in Europe and America, is to impart to their pupils a thoroughly Religious and a sound Literary education, which will enable them in after-life to discharge their duties with honour to Religion &nd Society, and with credit and advantage to themselves Students are prepared for the ft.Z. University Junior and Senior Civil Service, Medical Entrance, Solicitors' General Knowledge, Bank and all other Public Examinations. Students not preparing for the learned Professions have the advantage of a Special Commercial Couree, under efficient management, where they are taught all that will be of use in mercantile pursuits. Special attention is also paid to the teaching of PhjMcal Science, for which purpose the College poasesne^ a lartre Laboratory and Demonstration Hall. Vocal Mumg, Elocution. Drawing, and all other branches of a Liberal Education rec ive due attention. Physical culture is attended to by a competent Drill Instructor, who trains the students three times a week in Drill, Rifle Practice, and Gymnastics. A large and well-equipped Gymnasium is attached to the College. The religious and moral training of the pupils is an object of special care, and particular attention is bestowed on the teaching of Christian Doctrine. A well-appointed Infirmary attached to the College is under the charge of the Sisters of Compassion, from whom in case of illness all Btudente receive the most tender and devoted care, and who at all times pay particular attention to the younger and more delicate pupils, who without such care would find the absence of home comforts very trying.
