During the quarter ended 30th September the imports amounted in value to £3,216.891, against £3 314 936 for the corresponding period of last year ; from the United Kingdom, £1,873,667 ; from the United States, £396,468 ; from Australia, £565,067. The exports during the same period amounted to £2,806,823, against £2,532,820 for the September quarter of 1902. The exports to the United Kingdom were £1,598,313, against £1,475,828. The exports to Australia increased from £534,448 to £839,964, but those to South Africa decreased from £256,572 to £170,424.
