WEDDING BELLS.
DEEGAN — FOEDE,
An interesting wedding took place at Mr. John Forde's, Groper's Bush, on November 6 (says the Wintoii Record"), when Miss M. Forde, only daughter of Mr. John Forde, of Groper's Bush, was united in the bonds of Matrimony to Mr. John W. Deegan. eldest son of Mr. James Deegan, Waterdale, Oreti Plains. The ceremony, which was witnessed by a large number of relatives and friends of both families, was celebrated by the Very Rev. Father Sheehan. Riverton. The bridesmaid and best man were respectively Miss N. Luckey and Mr. Joseph Deegan. The bride's dreis consisted of a handsome blai k silk trimmed with white bro-'he and a stylishly trimmed white hat to match. The bridesmaid's dress was composed of a blue cloth imitation Eton relieved by cream trimmings. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party and friends adjourned to a marquee, where a sumptuous breakfast was laid out. The usual toasts were honored in becoming style. In the evening a large number of guests waa entertained at a dance in honor of the event. The newly-wedded couple were the recipients of several valuable and useful presents. In response to the invitation of the bridegroom's parents over 100 persona assembled at Oreti Plains to welcome home the happy couple. Mr. and Mrs. Deegan spared no pains in securing the enjoyment of their guests After an excellent dinner had been done justice to and several toasts duly honored, dancing wai indulged in for some hours. The pleasant gathering broke up with best wishes for their host and hostess, and especially for the newly-wedded couple.
