A very pleasant evening's amusement was provided at the last weekly meeting of the South Dunedin Catholic Literary and Social Club, held in St. Patrick's Hall. There was a numerous attendance and the programme presented was thoroughly enjoyed. Mr. Haydon, assisted by an amateur, kindly consented to take part in the proceedings, and from the successful manner in which they entertained their audience for close on a couple of hours it was evident from the frequent applause that their efforts were duly appreciated. During the intervals several musical items were suitably rendered, Mrs. G. Neill presiding at the piano. Mr. G. Neill was very successful in his rendering of ' Rocked in the cradle of the deep ' and ' Molly Bawn,' while the singing of Misses Cray, O'Mahoney, and Fitzpatrick was deservedly applauded. Hearty votes of thanks to the ladies and gentlemen who contributed to the success of the programme were unanimously accorded.
