Ballykilbeg is Anxious.
In the House of Commons on April 27 Mr William Johnßton, of Ballykilbeg, asked the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Roman Catholic deputation to his Majesty King Edward, on the 3rd May. will be constituted of ecclesiastics in their Papal robes and if it is intended that the prelates should walk thus through the public streets ; and whether the proclamation ipsued on the 15th July, 1852, under the advice of Minister?, expressly referring 1 to the 29th section of the Emancipation Act, which forbids such public mani festation, will be repeated, if necessary, by his Majesty's Govern ment. — Mr O'Dogherty : Before the right hon. gentleman answers this question, might I ask is it possible that the King made this arrangement without first consulting the hon. member for South Belfast ? — Mr Balfour : In answer to the question of my hon. friend, I have no information as to the first paragraph of his question. As to the second, it was stated by the Solicitor-General in July, 1899, that there was no intention of renewing the proclamation.
