A letter from Rev John Ryan, posted at Pago- Pago, was received by the last American mail The rev. Father enjoyed the voy^ire greatly, although up to that date the Pacific had sadly belied its name. He found in Father Costello a most amiable and delightful companion. They received the gieatest courtesy at the handri of the officers of the 'Ventura' and the other passengers, and are loud in tht-ir praise of the extreme kindness and ho pitality shown to them by the Right Rev. Dr. Lenihan and the priests of Auckland during their stay in the city by the Waiteinata.
