London, January 5. — Butter : Firm. Good business in Colonial at 108 ato 110 a; a few boxes sold at 112 a. Danish, 128s, with strong demand, but short supply. Wheat : There is a sharp rise in the market, and American is hardening. American red winter is quoted at 83£o ; cargoes are firm but quiet. Victorian and New South Wales January and February shipments are quoted at 30a 6d ; parcels, 29a to 29s 3d. London, January 6. Frozen Mutton : Cross-bred wethers, maiden ewes — Canterbury, 4 13-16 d ; Duneiin and Southland, 4 1116 d ; North Island, 4Jd. New Zealand baef, 180 to 2201 b, fair average quality : Ox fores unchanged, hinds 4d, River Plate is unchanged. The Agricultural Department has received the following cable from the Agent-General, dated 4th inst. : — ' Average price of ohoioest butter is Is lOd (market firm) ; finest cheese. 54s (market steady).
