Messrs. Donald Reid and Co. report as follows :—
Oats — We submitted a small catalogue of medium to good feed. Competition lacked spirit, and most of the lots on offer were passed in pending better demand. We quote : Clean seed, Tartarian* etc., Is 5d to Is 9d ; prime milling, Is 4sd to Is s id ; good to best feed, Is 3£<3 to Is 4d ; medium and inferior, Is 2d to la 3d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat — Shippers' oprations are now more restricted, and as millers' present requirements are not heavy, only a limited business is being done in milling quality. Fowl wheat continues in fair demand at quotations. We quote : Prime milling, 2s Cd to 2a 6Jd ; uiedjum, 2s Id to 2a 4d ; whole fowl wheat, 1b lOd to 2s ; broken and damaged do, Is 6d to Is 9d per bushel (sacks in). Potatoes— No change in value. A few choice Derwenta realised 30-i, but in most casea prime samples are being quitted at 27s (id ; medium to fair, 22s 6d to 25s per ton (sacks in). Chaff— We catalogued about forty tons medium to prime quality. Best oaten sheaf sold at L 2 7s Gd to L 2 10s ; fair to good, L 2 to L 259 ; medium, LI 15s to Ll 17s 6d per ton (baga extra). Turnips— Best swedes (email) sold at 12s per ton (loose) ; do (large), 11s per ton (loose).
