WEDDING BELLS.
M'KENZIE— REID. A MABRIAUE which excited a good deal of interest took place at Orepuki on July 4, the contracting parties being Mr. W. McKenzie and Miss Lavina Reid, daughter of Mr. M. Reid, an old and highly respected resident in the district. The Very Rev. Father Walsh performed the ceremony. It may be mentioned that it *as Father Walsh who baptised the bride years ago in Dunedin, and also prepared her for her first Communion and Confirmation. The bride, who was given away by ker father, wore a beautiful white lustre dress, the bodice trimmed with ruched chiffon, and wreath and veil. She was attended by her four sisters as bridesmaids. Misses E. and L. Reid were dreseed in white nun's veiling, and Misses Frances and Joy in pale blue nun's veiling. Mr. F. Reichel was best man. After the ceremony, the gutsts, who numbered about seventy, sat down to a sumptuous breakfast, ample justice being done to Mrs. Reid's hospitality. The usual toasts were given and responded to. After the breakfast, an adjournment wasr made to the garden, where a photograph was taken of the whole wedding party, who were mostly relatives of the bride, four generations being represented. Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie left by the afternoon train on their honeymoon, taking with them many good wishes for their future happiness. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a handsome gold watoh and chain. The young couple were the recipients of many useful and beautiful presents. In the evening Mrs. Reid invited a number of young people to a dance, which wa3 most enjoyable. Several conga and recitations were given during the evening, and capital music was supplied by Messrs C. Griffith and Brownridge.
