THE WEEK'S DREDGING RETURNS.
For the week ending yesterday (30th inst) returns were reprted from 25 dredges (says the Otago Daily 7V/wv), the total go! yield being 891oz 4dwt 22gr, or an average of slightly over 35t per dredge. On the preceding week the total yield from 1 7 drlges that reported was 818oz 12dwt 2gr. The returns reported las week were : — Magnetic (Cromwell), 2-1 loz ; Alpine (lliley'a Ba:h, Cromwell), 690z ; Matau (Alexandra), 58oz ; Vincent (Clyde), 4fst 13dwt ; Golden Beach (Alexandra), 420z 18dwt ; Nevis (Nevis Rier), 370z ; Golden Gate (Island Block), 330z lOdwt ; Success (Wipori), 360z ldwt Ggr : Chatto Creek (Manuherikia), 30oz ; Gden Treasure (Miller's Flat), 28oz lOdwt ; Golden Point (Alexanra), 28oa ; Ettrick (Moa Flat), 230z ; Waimumu (near Gore), 23i ; Upper Waipori (Waipori), 220z ldwt ; Golden Terrace (Lsver Shotover), 20nz 3dwt 15gr ; Molyneux Hydraulic (Alexanra), 20oz ; Clyde (Alexandra), 18oz ; Enterprise (Alexandra), 17t lttdwt 9gr ; Empire (Waipori), 17oz 13dwt IGgr ; Jutland Flat (Vupori), 16oz 15dwt ; Sunlight (Beaumont), 1 loz ihlwt ; Evans' Fit (Tuapeka), 13oz ; Tuapeka (Tuapeka), 7oz lOdwt ; Macraes Fl (Macraes), soz 4dwt ;— total, 891oz 4dwt 22gr. The Waimumu Gold Dredging Company obtained 20oz gold for 11 dredging hours last week. Mr Callender, secretary of the Mraes Flat Gold Dredging Company (Limited) received a telegrn from the dredgemaster, intimating a wash -up for soz 4dwt f o»he last week.
