MR. ANTHONY MULLINS, WANGANUI.

One by one (writes our Wanganui correspondent) our early Bettlers are' passing from amongst us. This time we have to mourn the loss of Mr. Anthony Mullins, who died last Monday, March 20, at his farm on the Brunswick line. The deceased was 15 1 years of age, and was born in Gal way. About 45 years ago he came to the colonies as a private in the Goth Regiment, and saw good service during those turbulent times. He was a resident of our district for over 40 years, and was always known as a good and practical Catholic. As a citizen he was well known, and earned the good will of all those with whom he came into contact. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon. A large number followed, including the members of the Wanganui branch of the New Zealand Veteians' Association. The Very Rev. Father Kirk officiated at the grave. A family of six — all grown vp — are left to mourn their loss.— i2./.P.
