(From our Timaru correspondent.)
February 20. A most delightful trip was undertaken, under the auspices of the Sacred Heart Choir, on Saturday last, when a party of ladies and gentlemen journeyed by the morning train to Waimate. On reaching there they were joined by the Waimate Choir. Both parties were then conveyed in vehicles to Kelcey's Bush, a distance of about six miles from the town. The weather was exceptionally fine, and the party spent a very enjoyable day. The picnic was a great success, and those who had the management of affairs are to be congratulated on the result of their efforts. Rev. Fathers Tubman, Regnault, and OConnell were present. The programme of the St. Patrick's Day Sports has been issued. It is evidently the result of careful consideration on the part of the committee, who are to be congratulated.
