Dunedin Horse Saleyards. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co. report aa follows :—: — The entries for this week's sale were limited to eight or ten useful draught and about the same number of the commoner class of hacks rmd harness horses, there was a mea« re attendance of the public, too, and consequently very little business was done. In draughts the follow ing sal-s were effected. One heavy gelding. Syrp, at a.i"> ; one four-year-old filly, just broken, at £31 ; and two six-year-old geldings at L3o each, and one gelding, aged, at L 25. Of light hos<es only three changed hands — one hack at Lll, and another at L^. and the third at LI Ids. There is a fair demand for young draughts, but priets are not what they were, excepting in the case of extra heavy geldings, suitable for the town carriers. This class of horse is scarce, and wanted, and first-class geldings are still saleable nt LID to L 45. Good upstanding spring-cart horses are also very scarce, and command a ready sale at quotations. We quote as follows . Superior young draught geldings, L 35 to L4O : extra good, prime hor-e-. Ll2 to Lls' medium draught mare and geldings L 25 to L 33 ayed draught marei and gelding 0 . Ll>S to L 24 ; upstanding carriage horses, L2O to L2"> ; well matched carriage pairs L6i> to L7o ; strong spring-van horses, LI 6 to L 24 ; milk cart and butchers order-cart horses. Ll2 to Lls . tram horses, LS to LI 2 ; light hack-;, L 5 to LH) . extra good do, U"> to L2O : weedy and aged hacks and harness hordes, L 2 to L 3.
