The Issue Department of the Bank of England intimates that the stock of gold coin and bullion for the week was £3(1,872,000, ancl the reserve £23.515.000, the proportion of reserve to liabilities being 42'1)7. There was in circulation C2G,675,000. The public deposits amounted to £19,618,000, other deposits to £35,000.(100 ; Government securities to .1111,209,000, and other securities to *35. 367,000.
