DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.

Messrs. Wright, Stephexson, and Co. report as follows :—: — At Saturday's sale there was a poor entry of horses and a moderate number of buyers. Those forward consisted chiefly of light and inferior hacks and harness horses. Young and sound draughts are very scarce, and are in great demand. Houses answering this description are readily saleable at good prices. Good spring van horses are also much inquired after, and Avhen staunch young animals of this cla£3 are forthcoming they meet with a good deal of attention, and are readily sold at satisfactory prices. Upstanding buggy horses are in much better demand than they have been lately, and a few of these sorts were disposed of at first-class prices, light and inferior horses also met with, a better demand than usual, and a number were sold at fair prices. We quote — First-class heavy young draughts at f vom L 23 to L 33 : medium do, L2O to L 25 ; aged do, Ll.i to Ll9 ; good hacks and strong carriage,hprses, Lls to L2O : spring cart sorts, Lll to LI 5 ; light hacks, L 7 to LlO ; inferior do, L 2 to Lfj.

Wheat : Fowls' 2s 6d to 3s 2d, fair demand ; milling, 3s 6d to 3s lOd. Chaff, L2to L 2 10s. Hay : Oaten, L 3. Ryegrass, L 2 10s to L 3. Straw : 27s to 28s, pressed and loose. Potatoes : Kidneys (seed), L 2 to L 2 10s ; Derwents, L 2 12s Gd to L 3 ss. Flour : Sacks, -L9 10s to LlO ; roller, stone, LBto L 8 10i. Oatmeal :In 25lbs, LlO. Butter : Dairy, 7d to lOd ; factory, lid to Is. Eggs, 6d. Onions, 12s per cwt ; Frisco, 15s. Bran, L 2 10s. Pollard, 70s.
