DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS. Weekly Report.
Mfssbs Wbight, Stephenbon, and Co. report as follows : — At Saturday's sale there was a very large entry of horee*, but not Tery many buyers. There was a large number of draught horsea forward, and the demand for them was fair, especially for young heavy ones. Most of thoso offered changed hands at satisfy ory ptices. Spring carters were poorly represented, very few b»ing forward, and tbe'e were of rather inferior quality. Tne demand for this claa is still very go->d, anl had thervj bean more firsf-jlass ones cffered we should have disposed of them easily. Tne hrteks and harness horses offuvd were of raher poor quality, and for tb-asj there was very little demand. In a few c ses whero lignt borsaa wera offered the bidding was very good and the pnc?s obtained satisfactory. We quote :— Heivy draughts, four io six years, L 22 to L 27 ; do eight *o ten years, Lls to L2O ; light anl small do, L 8 to Ll2 ; upstanding spring-cart horses, youug and sound. Ll2 to Ll6 ; well-bred upstanding hacks and harness horses, Ll6 to L 29 ; upstanding hacks and harn3B3 horaes, LlO to Ll4 ; agel and inferior, L2toLs.
