A varied programme of sports and games for old and young was kept up the entire day, and the appearance of oor beloved bishop, who kindly paid a visit to the picnic, contributed not a little to the general ecjoyment. His Lordship was hailed by the people with loud acclamations and welcomed by the children Binging a hymn, after which several games wore got up and thoroughly eDjoyed.

In the evening the Say Father Newport presented tbe winners of the different games and tbe schoolchildren with prizes and toys as a momentoof their pleisant day.
