Yet such is the sense of justice and policy in the New Zealand Legislature thafi it compels these Catholics, after having manfully provided for their own children, to contribute largely towards the free and godless education of other people's children !1 ! On the same day, Archbishop s^f^w§^ Redwood and Bishop Luck assisted at the Jgjra&£ opening of a large church in Napier. The T^ij^W simultaneous opening of two large churches — ISg* one in the North Island and the other in the l^T South Island — naturally causes people to think and speak of the progress of Catholicity in New Zealand and the Australian Colonies. But a few weeks ago we chronicled the imposing ceremonies at the opening of the Church of Saint Patrick in South Dunedin.
