DUNBDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.

Wbioht, BtephenßON and Co. report as follows :— There was again a small entry of horses for our sale on Saturday, but, notwiths'anding the few that were advertised, there was a fair demand both for young draught, strong express, and buggy horsesi; and there was also more inquiry for light horses, of which a good number changed hands. We nave inquiries for young draughts and horses suitable for spring cart work, and we have no doubt consignments of useful noises of these classes would sell well. We quote : First-class draughts (extra heavy), L 25 to L3O ; good ordinary (young), LlB to L 22 ; medium draughts, Ll2 to Ll6 ; aged draughts, L 6 to LlO ; goad backs and harneoa horses, Ll2 to Ll6 ■ medium do, L 7 to L 9 ; light and inferior do, L 2 10s to L 5.

Ch iff : Inferior to medium, 30s to 455; good to prime, £2 5s to £2 12a 6i. Hay : Oats £3 Os ; ryegrass, £2 ss. Potatoes : seed kidneys, £3 ; dement*' £2 to £2 sa. Flour : Stone, £6 10s to £7 Os ; roller, £7 to £7 15 8 Oatmeal, 251bs, £8 103 ; bulk, £8. Butter, fresh, 7d to lOi ■alt, 7d, fair demand. Eggs, U2d per dozen (fair supply.)
WELLINGTON STOCK, HOBSE, AND PBODUOE MABKBTS. A. G. Tune, and Co.'s report on the markets for July 26. Fat Sbeep— Market keeping well up. Sales of prime heavy wethers, up to 16s ; medium, 13s to 14s ; best ewee, 11s to 12a. Store Sheep— Wethers in fresh condition, 11s 6d to 12s 6d ; medium, 9a 61 to 10a 9d. Lambs- Fair demand. Boat, 7s to 7s 61 ; medium, 5s Sd to 68 ; eulli, from 3s upwards. Fat Cattle— We have numerous enquiries for prime sort*. Beef, up to 19s. Store Cattle— Capital demand for all classes. Weaners, 28s to 28s ; yearlings, 40s ; two-year-olds, L 3 ; three-years, well grown, and forward, Lt to L 4 10a, Dairy Cows are badly wanted, and requirements difficult to fill. Have sold good sorts, just calved and close to calving, L 7 10s to L 9 ; aged cowp, Li to L 5 2s 6d. Horses— We held our usual weekly hoise sale on Saturday. Tbere was a good entry in our yardß, including seven good young express and light harness horses from Messrs Hocken Brother*, of Fielding, all of which we sold at, Ll6, Ll4 10s, Ll4, Ll3, and Lll. This market is indebted to Hocken Brothers for a regalar supply of this class of horses. Draughts did not sell so well, the difficulty being one of price We sold useful light harness and other horses, from L 3 17s 6d to LB. Hacks are still unsaleable unless for anything very special, but good light harness horses, young and sound, attract attention still. Sheepskins— Plenty offering, but buyers are shy and hare to be coaxed to give anything like value, Prices remain firm. Tallow, 18s to 20s ; for best medium, 15s to 16s Wheat— Milling, no business ; fowl wheat, 2a 6i to 2i Bd. Oats— Quiet, Is 9d to Is 10$ i for best. Potatoes— Plentiful supply, table, 50s; seed, L 3 lOd to L 6, according to kind . Ohaff— Plenty offering, 65s to 70s. Property— No sales to report, still an enquiry particularly from tha South, for moderate improved farms. Town property : Plenty of enquiries for 4 to 5 roomed, handy, and convenient cottages, and also , 7 and 9 roomed houses.
