DIOCESE OF DUNEDIN.
On the Feast of St Patrick. H'gh Mass was celebrated in St Joseph's Cathedral at 9 a.m. by the Rev Father Murphy, the Very Father Lynch, Rector, actins? as deacoD, and the Bey Father Hunt as sub-deacon. In St Patrick's Church, South Dunedin, High Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m., Father Lynch beini? celebrant, Fatner Murphy deacon, and Father Hunt sub-deacon. A sermon on the mission of St Patiick was preached in tins church on Sunday by Father Murphy, There w&s a very large attendance. In consequence of the illnu93 of the liisbop there will bj no consecration of tbe oils this year in St Joseph's Cathedral. They will be consecrated for this diocese »t Christchurcb by the Most Rev Dr Grimes. Ono of tbe Dunedin nriebta will be present, by whom also the holy oils will bs brought back to this city. DIOCEhE OF CHKWr< HUBCH. The foundation-stone of a Bcbool-houso was laid ou Sunday in the parish of St Mary's. Mauct ester street, by his Lordthip the Bishop.
