HURLING.
Thb Dunedin Hibernian Hurliog Club JDurneyed to Milionon Easter Monday and were most hospitably received and entertained by their local brethren. A match was played during the afternoon in a fioe level paldock near the railway station, a large number of residents, includiog a goodly proportion of the fair sex, being present. The" players numbered 16 aside, and on lining out were seen to be very fairly matched, the country men, with their neat caps, taking the fancy of the ladies, but the knowing ones selected the spare and wiry formi of th« town men as more likely to ldst out a tough struggle. The Miltin played a fast and (strong game, but lacked combination. The Dunedin pby on the whole was disappointing, but occasionally they played up splendidly, winning the match by three goals to one The Uev Father O'Donnell played for Milton, and made some very good strokes, Father Lynch taring up an easier position as poal umpire, and Father Ryan looking oo to see justice done to both sides After cheers had been interchanged the Dunedin men returned to town by the express, well pleased with their day's outing.
