A recent week will remain famous in the annals of Spanish bullfighting No fewer than three .bull-fisrhters, two matadores, and one bandenllero have been mortally wounded and died within a few day* of receiving their wounds in the Madrid, Araojue*. and Cordova buil" rings. Five other bull-fighters were wounded in the same rines last week also, and one of them is disabled for life. Lastly, a picador was thrown with such violence against the barrier of the rine that be had one nb broken and so severe a concussion of the brain that he died after a week's lllnesp. The German Emperor has issued an order that no sermon preached before him by a Court Chaplain is to exceed fifteen minntes JnJenotb The late Prince Consort was so wearied by the inordinate leneth of many of the Bermons which were preached before the Court in the various Chapels Royal, that about a year after his marriage he expressed a wish that a rule similar to the one now promulgated br his grandson could be established for the Court preachers ; but the Duke of Bedfoid and Lord Melbourne pointed out that any snch restriction would arouse a clamour througWt the country; In process of time, however, there came to be an understanding that sermon, preached before the Court must be brief, and it was only in Scotland thht the Prince was still doomed to listen to discourses of unreason, able prolixity. — Tnth,
