WEDDING AT KIRWEE.

rwELVB months ago I had the pleasure of sanding you an ace Mint of a wedding that took place in our district, and I expre«8 j d a hoD ! >it th • time that if that was an Irish wedding I might boot b ! aa^d to another. Well I have been fortunate in getting another invitttim to help to celebrate another weddiag in the same family, which I will briefly chronicle. The Parfield church presented last Wednes lav tha usual g*y appearance we see on such ocsasiois, and ths hapoy piir that were joined in the holy bonds of wedlock by the Ray. Father O'Donuell, the parish pri-»«t, were Mr. Michael McCarthy of Loath, Hill End, Sjnthland, to Misa Mary Lafljy, daughter of Mr. T. Liffey of Kirwee. The bride word a dre»s o' peaexsk green, trimmei with brocbe and white silk, with wreath of orange blo«s.im and veil. The bridesmaids, Misses Kate Liffey and Maria Midlen, were attirtd in dre»es of d rk green with plush trimming, and peacock blin with white silk front respectively. The bri l«grooms bist man, wai Mr. Mathew Laffey, brother of the bride. Special Mass was celebrated during the ceremony, which wad witnessed by an overflowing congregation of all denominations. The wedding party proceeded after the ceremony to the house of Mr. T. Laffey, where they wre joined by a great many that could not attend the church, and about 83 sat down to tbe breakfast, that none but an Irishman knows how to provide. And after thoroughly enjoying the good things provided the Rev. Father O'Donnell, who occupied the head of the table, in a short, but expressive speech wished long life and prospsrity to the happy couple, which was responded to with loud acclamation. About 130 people assembled in the evening in Mr. L&ffeys grain shed, tastefully decorated for the occasion, where to the music of Mr. James Woite and other volunteers, dancing was indulged in, for I cannot say how long, for I had to leave about 5 a.m. The happy coaple start for South Hill End, Southland, by Monday's express, where we hope they will live for many year* to parpjtua c tha mmv of McCarthy and Laffey.
